Marc Perez believes public service is a privilege. His dedication has been demonstrated since the age of 16. Marc Perez began his service as a volunteer firefighter while in high school and continued as a volunteer until he completed Nursing School in 1975. While in school Marc was also certified as an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician). He taught Standard and Advanced First Aid for the American Red Cross and CPR for the American Heart Association. Marc Perez went on to receive his license as an R.N. (Registered Nurse) in 1975 and became the 78th licensed Paramedic in the State of Missouri in 1976. After some time with the fire and rescue service and working also in hospital ICUs (Intensive Care Units), Marc Perez returned to school once again. Marc went to Danville, Virginia, to attend The Memorial Hospital (Danville Regional Medical Center) School of Nurse Anesthesia for an intense two year educational program and became a C.R.N.A. (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist) in 1979. Nurse Anesthesia has served as his primary occupation. Marc is employed by an anesthesia group, working exclusively at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center.
Marc, his wife Marianne and daughter Cheryl believe public service and helping others is a natural and healthy part of life.
With a history of service which is unblemished or influenced by outside sources, Marc continues his service to the public which began 40 years ago.
Life experiences help to form what sort of person we become as we grow. From giving the first breath of life into the lungs of a new born baby who was not breathing from the start to seeing the last breath taken by the dying, Marc has learned to appreciate the time we have on this earth. It is a responsibility to share the gift of life and enhance the quality of life for those with whom we share our comminity.
Marc served on the Wildwood Board of Ethics. Marc also serves on the Wildwood Community Park Citizens Advisory Committee (CPAC). Wildwood will have a very nice and large City Park off Manchester Rd. West of Highay 109 in the future. On Monday November 8th, 2010 Marc shared his thoughts on the new City Park with the Wildwood City Council. The next evening, November 9th was the first meeting of the Community Park Advisory Committee (CPAC). The second meeting January 11th. With the first public forum January 25th. Marc is one of two citizens from Ward 3 on the Committee. More sessions of the committee and public forums will be announced for those who would like to be more involved in the process for this exciting park for Wildwood.
Marc has been attending Wildwood City Council meetings for the past few years, speaking before the Council, presenting information, supporting ideas that are good and speaking against ideas that are not.
